The food here was very good. It should be said that we were on a tour and the restaurant had a deal with the company and fed us all (40+) at the same time and it was delicious! That being said, I would love to come back and order off the menu to see how it is.
The atmosphere here is worth the visit alone! Many of these restaurants, shops and hotels are in ancient buildings that are built on top of even older structures. The smart business people of Assisi have figured out any different ways to display these ruins beneath their businesses. This restaurant owner created a see through floor to show off the historic excavation! Wow! So interesting and fun!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 30, 2022
We had a lovely lunch here in the quiet cellars. It's a beautiful underground space with plexiglass sections of the floor showing older construction below.
The pizza here was outstanding and there were so many choices. My friend really enjoyed her gluten free version.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 33188486Jul 18, 2022
I've been here twice now and both times have been amazing! They have super cool clear floors and even better food! Service is great and I would definitely come back if in Assisi! The pasta and pizza are great and the salads were a great size portion! The desserts were also super tasty which is always a bonus! Clean, quick service and delicious...can't beat that!

We had planned to dine here on a recommendation from the "boutique farm" we were staying at. However, we were forced to cancel our reservation because a head cold finally caught up with me. While canceling the reservation in person, before the restaurant opened, my wife asked the chef if he could make us soup for takeaway. Even though no soups were on the menu, the chef whipped up a lentil vegetable soup for takeaway that was fantastic, all while prepping his kitchen for a restaurant opening 30 minutes away! I wished we had dined there, because the setting looks great.

Excellent pizzas, salads and beer! Selection of pizzas is huge and many local and specialty flavors, including all the traditional choices. They had quite a few "non pizza" dishes, but we didn't try them. Great environment, friendly staff and affordable. All over amazing experience.

The pizza and service were outstanding! Great flavors and great value! Try the 1/2L carafe of wine CC as an intro to the local Assisi wines.

Definitely do not go here unless you are prepared to wait a long time and deal with a nasty hostess. The food was fine but honestly in Italy the food is this good most places. However there was a shortage of wait staff and an oversupply of negative attitude. The woman at the front kept pretending she didn't see us and there was a big delay. It was not a good way to spend the day and it was a negative energy event. I would definitely choose somewhere else since there are so many good choices.

We stopped in for an early dinner and we hit the jackpot. The floor has lots of glass to showcase the underlying excavations of mosaic flooring. We weren't exceptionally hungry and ordered only pizza and dessert. Both were perfectly prepared and reflected lots of attention to detail. The chefs here have true passion for authentic Umbrian cuisine. We started with fried zucchini flowers, which were pure heaven. The pizzas were perfection on a plate! I ordered a pizza with swordfish and porcini mushrooms, which seemed unusual yet enticing. It was over-the-top delicious. My only regret was being unable to dine here every night during our stay in Assisi. Our server was gracious and very patient as I struggled to communicate with my rudimentary Italian. Many of the staff do speak English. I wanted to try speaking Italian. Bless their hearts, they didn't laugh too loudly as I struggled.
I would recommend this place to anyone. The food is amazing and the prices are very reasonable.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Reyna O.San Jose, CA24848217Feb 4, 2014First to Review
I came to Assisi with my college class to study the Basilica, and we had our first group dinner here. We came around 7:30, and the restaurant seemed empty. They seated our group of 19 in a side room, and we had the room all to ourselves for the entire meal.
The entire restaurant has beautiful stone walls, which gives a really historical and traditional feel to the place. The floor is made of glass and elevated above the original stone floor.
Our professor ordered appetizers for us: a couple salads and grilled vegetables covered in cheese. The salad was fresh, and the grilled vegetables--though simple--were delicious.
Each person in our group was able to order the pizza of their choice. There were about four pages of pizzas. The further you flipped in the menu, the more complicated the pizzas became. For instance, there was a pumpkin cream pizza, some had swordfish, and a couple had boar sausage.
I ordered a pizza with boar sausage, mushrooms, and truffle shavings. When the pizza came out, it was about a foot in diameter. Even though I was starving after an entire day of traveling, I wasn't able to finish the pizza because it was so big. After spending three weeks in Italy, I'm still able to say this was the best pizza I had on the trip.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
