My niece was in town and wanted to come over for dinner so I ordered from Spasso. By the time the food arrived we were too hungry to snap pics for Yelp! Sorry!
The Caesar salad was delicious: fresh, crisp romaine with a healthy amount of shredded parmesan, a rich dressing, and some crunchy croutons. Definitely enough for two!
The Shrimp Scampi disappointed again (I should have checked my earlier review) just because it was so bland. The shrimp were plentiful, large, and nicely cooked but the pasta was just blah.
We shared the Chicken Parm and it was superb; the chicken was nicely cooked and the side of fettuccine Alfredo was so good we were fighting over it, lol.
Finally, the Bruschettone was something I could eat every day. A crusty piece of baguette with flavorful marinara, melty fresh mozzarella, and julienned basil was truly the star of the meal. The thick balsamic vinegar glaze was so delicious I literally spooned up the rest into my mouth. :D
I will definitely return!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Feb 16, 2021Previous reviewI really wanted some yummy, garlicky, buttery, tomato-y Italian food when we tried Spasso for the first time, but this meal just didn't check the boxes. Kudos to restaurants operating during this exhausting pandemic of course; I just didn't want bland food.
Starting with the Mushroom Risotto, it was nicely cooked and the mushroom flavor was good, but it desperately needed salt.
The Roasted Brussels Sprouts with pancetta and balsamic were delicious and it was a generous portion RC and I split.
My Basic Bleu salad featured three anemic tomato wedges, crisp lettuce, bacon, Gorgonzola, but a watery dressing that pooled in the bottom instead of coating the leaves.
RC had the Spaghetti & Meatball - a tennis-ball sized meatball - that was good, but again pretty bland. Finally, my Shrimp Scampi was the biggest letdown. The pasta and shrimp were nicely cooked, but instead of buttery garlic flavor, it tasted like nothing. I honestly didn't finish it it was so disappointing.
Hoping the chef had an off day, we'll definitely give them another try. I just hope the flavor game is stepped up! - Dec 10, 2023
Stumbled upon spasso as an Italian spot close by and decided to try it! We got the chicken parm and prosciutto pizza. Pizza had less slices of prosciutto than slices of pizza, the bottom was soggy, and the crust was clearly not handmade. Chicken parm came with fettuccine which was chewy and the chicken had some odd pieces attached that we were sure if it was the chicken hammered incredibly thin or maybe something else?
Overall not super impressed with the food, won't be back anytime soon.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Erika D.Minneapolis, MN4555May 3, 2024
Food is meh. Service is worse. They do have a decent draft beer selection. With so many great restaurant options, skip this one.

There's lots of windows on this corner of the strip mall. It's a little chilly so be prepared. I got ravioli with red sauce. A very good sauce with some very good ravioli. Basil got the shrimp scampi. I thought it was strange to have chopped tomatoes in it. We got a Caesar salad nice homemade croutons. It could have used more dressing and that's with requesting extra. I thought the bread was odd for an Italian place. It's mulit-grain not white. They melt cheese on the crust giving it an onion look. That's actually what I thought it was. Kuddos for serving butter and not oil with it. We enjoyed our gingerale and iced tea. Natalie was our excellent server. Beautiful atmosphere. Can't wait to go back in the summer. It's a nice ride home straight out Minnetonka Blvd.

We did a Valentine dinner here as it was a place we hadn't been before. We started with a shrimp cocktail which were 5 decent sized shrimp served with cocktail sauce. Good starter.
I chose an entree from the the special list which was sea bass with pesto and risotto and it was very good. Nice large piece of fish. Fish was tender and flaky. Husband had the Red Snapper. We both liked our meals very much.
The atmosphere wasn't quite what I was hoping for Valentines Day. There were lots of families there and it didn't have the romantic ambiance I was hoping. Staff was nice. Service good. Parking was a bit of a nightmare but we drove around a bit and found an opening.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Becky D.Excelsior, MN57106Aug 3, 2023
Really, Spasso? One skinny "crostini", ONE sad slice of prosciutto, lots of cherry tomatoes. "Maybe the mozzarella was imported from Italy and that's why they couldn't afford prosciutto?" Said the teenager. Sorry, that was a rant but the ratio was definitely off.

Probably won't be back. Wasn't bad but wasn't good. Their vegetarian options are limited, especially pasta. Not sure why they feel the need to add all sorts of things to a cheese ravioli. Pizza sauce was like a weird marinara.

I go here for drinks and apps. Usually the portions are a good size. My friend ordered the $12 fried cauliflower. We were both shocked by the tiny amount of food on the plate (the photo doesn't make it look bad). It didn't even look appealing. She sent it back after giving feedback to the server and another staff member. Both agreed with our assessment and said other customers have complained about this but that management won't make any changes. Too bad because it's not that hard to deliver a decent plate of food. They got $0 instead of $12.

Went here for a girl's night out over the weekend. My friend and I have never been here. We sat out on the beautiful patio they have. It was just the perfect evening for it too.
Service was great. Our server was very pleasant. Food was good. We started off with a spasso mule, beer and Parmesan truffle wings. Mule was ok, I've had better ones. The wings were good, the Parmesan taste stood out more than the truffle. We both got the chicken with the Mushroom risotto. Highly recommend getting this dish. Risotto was cooked perfectly, Chicken was tender. It was a well rounded dish.
My friend and I had a really good experience here. We will definitely come back and try other things on the menu.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
