Lucky for me, Tre Dici was just down the block from the Hilton Fashion District I was staying at on 26th Street. After checking it out on my trusty Yelp app, I decided on Tre Dici as my first meal out for my trip to NYC this time. It did not disappoint.

Service wise, these guys were on point, all the way. As soon as I entered the doorway threshold, someone was there ready to take me to a seat and get me started on my way to a great meal. The restaurant itself is very nicely decorated, cozy, albeit a bit dark. Bread came out fast to enjoy and it was delicious. My order was taken promptly and I decided on the Kobe Beef Ravioli for my meal. Listed in the menu as "homemade ravioli filled with Barolo braised wagyu beef, caramelized onions & fontina di val'dosta in browned butter & thyme with natural reduction" ...how can you resist that? It was a good portion, not small but not overabundant, just right actually as it is pretty filling. It was delivered to my table in good time and I savored and enjoyed every single bite with a pretty generous pour of prosecco I had also ordered. The sauce on the ravioli was so flavorful, it was the kind you use your bread for to get every drop. My bill was taken care of in good time with minimal wait. Everyone on the staff was positive and attentive, and the food was just awesome. My first meal in NYC this time was a great one, and I recommend trying out Tre Dici if you get the chance to do so.

Bottom line: Tre Dici was a great Italian meal experience in the Chelsea NYC area. The Kobe Beef Ravioli did not disappoint, and the staff was wonderful. The Yelp app was on target for this one, it was a good find. I hope to enjoy these guys again!

We stumbled upon Tre Dici while we were in NYC staying at the Hilton Fashion District right down the street. It was close by after a long day of walking and had good ratings on Yelp... so we were in!

Though the restaurant was over half empty, for some reason, it took at least five minutes to be seated. There seemed to be a lot of confusion with the hostess and the waiters. However, once we were seated, our waitress was very sweet and efficient.

We kept things simple, sharing the meatball appetizer and both ordering ravioli. The meatball appetizer was simple and tasty and a great way for me to start the meal since my ravioli was meatless. Hubby ordered the Kobe Beef Ravioli, which was to die for! It was savory and flavorful, and not going to lie, I was jealous that I didn't order it, too. I ordered Ravioli "Zucca." It was tasty but the organic pumpkin, butter nut squash, and sweet potato filling was a little bit too sweet.

Booked reservations on a Saturday night with no problems. This restaurant is a great spot for an intimate birthday dinner. We had 8 girls and we each got something different. I tried a bit of other people's dishes and in all, I would just recommend the Frenched Chicken. It was so amazingly delicious and HUGE.

For cocktails, they do a bunch of seasonal, fruity drinks. The pumpkin latte was really overwhelming. I highly recommend the spiked apple cider, best ever!

Above-average Italian. Three of us had dinner on a weeknight and it was full.

The menu is interesting. Tre Dici has different takes on traditional Italian dishes. I had Kobe Beef Ravioli which were pretty good. The meatballs were amazing.

I didn't like the Chocolate Ravioli which is pasta ravioli stuffed with chocolate and topped with beef and garnishments. However, I'm glad I tried something different and appreciate Tre Dici's courage in offering unique plates.

The service was ok. We seemed to be waiting quite a bit to take our orders, for our food to arrive, and to get the check. However, the servers were always nice, knowledgeable, etc.

Tre Dici has moved up(stairs) to a really seculuded, blink or you will miss it locale. I love it! No huge, neon sign that attacks your face proclaiming TRE DICI STEAK. No, no. None of that. You walk in and you automatically feel you are in on a best kept secret....maybe that's why there isn't a review for this gem quite yet..but cat's out of the bag now!

You enter the door directly to the right of Tre Dici and you walk up one sketch flight of stairs and automatically, you are transported into another world. Plush red seats, dim lighting and 60s singer songwriters (plus a random Amy Winehouse CD) seduced the background as you sip your wine and take it all in. It's practically narcotic.

I came here for a fabulous friend's birthday dinner. There were 8 of us and we were a rowdy bunch for sure. We started with the Kobe Beef Raviolis and oh.my.god.heaven. I would come back here just for these little pockets of heaven.

Then I had the salmon that was delicious--fresh, melt in your mouth and seasoned with a honeyish glaze. YUM! Everyone else, of course, had steak and of course i stole a little bit and lets just say this place know's what they are doing.

And the sides! Mac & Cheese! Creamed Spinach! Onion Rings! Mashed Potatoes! Clogged Arteries! It's all heaven.

I really hope just enough people find out about this place to keep it open, but no need to spread the word too far :)

Also, a little video action, if you want a sneak peak (at the hot chef and the Hollywood cocktail): http://link.brightcove.com/services/link/bcpid571167566/bctid1427347722

Cool little place I checked out for lunch on an early June Monday. Big open window in the front (though not great for people watching) and a cool modern look.

Torn between 3-4 stars, but the environment created here made the meal enjoyable enough to suggest to others, the staple of a 4-star establishment.

Very helpful (and nice looking) staff, but the somewhat limited (I think just) lunch menu differs from the website. There were some salads but no appetizers.

I had the veal milanese, which was the veal del giorno. It was a nice piece of veal but the breading was a bit much. Considering the portion, fairly priced at $20. The cavatelli looked good but I was told had too much red sauce. Chocolate cake with ice cream was delicious.

      Very curious to try upstairs.

Came here randomly since we were in the neighborhood. It was great being able to easily make a reservation at a high quality restaurant a few hours in advance on a Friday night.

There's Tre Dici (downstairs) and Tre Dici Steak (upstairs, take an elevator to the 2nd floor and open a door). We liked the decor of Tre Dici Steak and the speakeasy-like way to get there. You can feel free to choose which restaurant you want to dine in which is nice.

Of course, we had to get the kobe beef ravioli after reading the rave reviews. It definitely lived up to expectations; I especially liked how the thyme and chocolate complemented the ravioli. We also shared the tagliatelle verde which was very good; could have used more crab meat though.

For dessert, we split the 20 layer crepe cake which was just divine and so creamy. In my opinion, I liked it more than the famed Lady M cake. Service was very friendly and attentive. Can't believe this place isn't more popular but I'll keep it as one of my hidden gems!

I've been here on two occassions, theres seating upstairs and downstairs. i believe it's the same menu in both but i could be wrong! upstairs has more of a dark and sexy feel to it while downstairs is a little lighter and more casual. both look great.

working in the business, i totally appreciate good service and on both occasions the servers were amazing. very attentive, fast, and so friendly! i especially liked the one last time, he was so sweet while putting up with my annoyingly needy father.

everything on the menu was delicious, the first visit was a while ago but i remember i loved it, the most recent visit we ordered:

      truffle mushroom salad
      beefsteak tomato and goatcheese salad

      pumpkin ravioli
      lamb chops
some delicious fish dish, can't remember exactly!
truffle fries that come in an amazing edible bowl made of parmesan!

few glasses of red, and a riesling (i don't like wine much!) - all delicious.

and for dessert an apple pastry and a slice of a simple yet amazing chocolate cake.

everything was amazing. i really have no complaints.
it's a little pricey for my pocket as a student, but its really not terrible. for the three of us and all we ate, i think the bill was around $200 including 20% tip. you're paying for great quality here, and the staff definitely know they're stuff! not at all the snotty upscale attitude you might expect from a place like this.

      highly recommend tre dici!

This is a great place. We were at the Steak place upstairs. So you need to be "in the know" to find this, secret stair or elevator to get up there. So I read reviews and like a sheep ordered the calamari, the kobe ravioli and it was awesome!! The calamari is one of the best I have ever had. Caution, if you do not like hot do not order it as it has spice in it. Not blasting hot.

Two of us had the rav while another in our party had a fish special, which he let me taste and it was excellent. I also ordered a bottle of nice CA Cab (Oberon) for $53 bucks, not bad.

Oh and it is baking hot here in NYC and I came in low brow with shorts and tennis shoes and nobody said boo.

I was here with a few friends and I ordered the Stracci...

"Homemade "ripped" pasta, braised short rib, oven roasted bone marrow & carmelized onions finished with toasted bread crumbs & fried shallots"

It was delicious!!! Hands down best short rib based pasta dish I have had in NYC.
