Alejandra provided exceptional customer service. She was attentive, patient, and helped me find the perfect item when I couldn't decide. I'll definitely be returning for her outstanding service. Thank you, Alejandra!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 26, 20241 check-in
Had an excellent lunch at this authentic pasta restaurant. Tagliatelle bolognese was reminiscent of the same dish in Bologna, where it is from. The pasta, imported daily from Bologna (what??) was the best pasta I've had in any restaurant in LA since I can remember. The sauce had great depth and flavor. The arugula salad was fresh and light. The broccolini with garlic tasted delicious but was a bit overcooked.
The service from beginning to end was friendly and attentive. The decor is tavern-like and minimal. I was glad we could snag a table as I am not a fan of sitting on bar stools with no backs.
Prices were beyond reasonable, which is something that can rarely be said anymore! I look forward to going back and trying more of the delicious pasta offerings.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Apr 21, 2024
Stopped by mid-afternoon on the weekend and waited 15 minutes for a table. Nice, chill vibe establishment.
Here's what we ordered...
Arugula salad: very good
Truffle pasta: good, some noodles were hard; could be fantastic with real truffle
Crema di Parmgiano: excellent
The staff was friendly, but the food came out so slow and the restaurant was not full. It's a "no tip" restaurant that charges a 16% service fee, but I rather pay a generous tip if it means the food will come out faster.
We'll go back again cause the food is worth it. Just wish they had pizza on the menu.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 39174395Apr 21, 20241 check-in
Was surprised to be walking out quite pleased (and full) with this meal - often places that are overhyped and more upscale leave me desiring more but this was not the case!
We ordered the cheese and truffle tasting menu and I was pleasantly surprised by the price for the amount of food. Yellowtail crudo was incredibly fresh with the best flavors (I think a really fresh extra virgin olive oil is what I really remember?). The other standout was the truffle tagliatelle - wasn't expecting much from the way it looked but boy was I wrong, I want it in my mouth again now that I'm typing about it. We also ordered a side of broccolini but it was a bit too seasoned for my taste. Dessert was slightly mid and forgettable.
Service was nice, waiter came by and checked on us a comfortable amount of times. Very dark and sultry ambience- good for date night but you can't see much! (It's giving hollister in 2013 iykyk)Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - 03445Apr 6, 2024
While the food at Uovo is great, there are a handful of service issues that bring down the rating of the restaurant.
This location specifically doesn't take reservations, so by the time you arrive it can be a 1.5-2 hour wait. The costs are also steep compared to other Italian restaurants.
We had an issue with our latest visit where part of our to go order was dropped when packing it up, so they had to make a new one. The staff forgot I was waiting for the new one so once it was completed it was put on the shelf, so I had to go back to the counter and ask if it was ready for them to realize it had been finished already. Additionally, they didn't offer a discount or small added item for the trouble of having to wait extra time for the new dish to finish (making most of our already ready order cold). This was disappointing knowing how expensive our meals were in general.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 16, 20241 check-in
First time at a Uovo location and it didn't disappoint! Located at The Sportsman's Lodge, it's the newest addition to this trendy Studio City food and shopping complex.
Showed up at 5:30ish and the wait for two at a table was already up to 1.5hrs (Uovo doesn't do resos - first come, first served). We got lucky and managed to get seated at the bar within 15 min. We preferred it that was as first-timers, as we got to watch the chefs work their magic in the open kitchen.
The ambience is intimate and moody, with wood featured throughout the space. The bar itself made of a huge, rustic cross section of wood, complete with hanging hooks for jackets or bags underneath.
We opted for the Regional tasting menu for two, which included battuta di carne (steak tartare); ragu; tortellini in the cheese sauce (there's a broth option you can choose as well); amatriciana; and tiramisu (the acting manager asked us if we had nut allergies prior to serving us the tiramisu as it had hazelnuts).
Everything was cooked to order as you finished each portion and it was sooo delicious. Did I mention the pasta is literally flown from Bologna, Italy overnight?! We also ordered the broccolini and cauliflower - both were very tasty. It was nice to have veggies in between to break up the pasta experience.
Our server Aubrey was incredibly nice and the manager had the place running efficiently and tight. The chef who was preparing meals closest to us was super nice as well and happily answered our questions about his cooking process.
Would happily come back!! Come right at opening to ensure you get seated quickly. First 90 mins parking in the lot are free!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 5, 2024Updated review
Just an updated experience that this is a wonderful spot. Always busy but fresh ingredients and delicious! The three go tos for me are- Ragu, Cacio e Pepe,, and Pomodoro.
Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jul 22, 2022Previous reviewThis place is the best pasta spot I have ever tasted! They definitely do things very traditionally, which means that it's really hard to make substitutions, and they follow the recipe to a tea. So if you have any special dietary restrictions, or you're picky, maybe you shouldn't come here. But if you want an amazing and authentic experience, give this restaurant to go. The staff are really knowledgeable and super friendly. And I love always sitting at the bar so I can watch the pasta being made. The only thing that I have to say is I love lasagna, and there's is delicious, but the serving size is way too small for me personally.

I visited UOVO on a Friday afternoon and securing a table was a breeze! The restaurant is situated in a lovely plaza, exuding a cozy ambiance with dim lighting.
Their drink selection is limited to wine and beer; cocktails are not available.
The server was friendly and accommodating. The service is super fast!
Opting for the Pomodoro, I received a confident recommendation from the server, and it lived up to expectations. The dish was cooked to perfection--neither overcooked nor undercooked--with just the right amount of sauce, free from dryness or greasiness. I can't wait to return to try more dishes from their menu. In fact, I am already tempted to order the Pomodoro again; it was truly exceptional!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jane R.San Francisco, CA871119Apr 4, 2024
Went to this restaurant with my boyfriend for his birthday dinner. He told me that the place doesn't take reservations but decided to go since he told me the pasta was good.
Went and got told our wait time was an hour and decided to just wait since it is in a plaza and there are other things you can do while waiting.
Now, maybe I am just being picky but the seating arrangement, and especially where I was seated by the corner, it wasn't the best. The stools are too hard and I did not have a place to put my purse, and the guy sitting next to me kept bumping into me since everyone is sat so close to each other.
The ambience is very dim and dark so I couldn't get the best pictures, but I personally like it. Makes it seem very warm inside.
Food is quite good too. The pasta is very doughy and the right texture. One of the flavors, I forgot which one , was very salty.. not sure if that is supposed to be like that but I couldn't finish it.
No bread served or anything else. Decided I needed some protein and got a carbonara with pork and it was 10/10!! Loved it.
A little upset when I got the bill because there was a service tip fee charged and I had no idea. Other than that, our server was super nice to us and food was good.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Sarah H.Porter Ranch, CA493646Apr 3, 2024
I got the truffle course item for lunch with my mom and my mom was in love. The noodles were Al dente (just the way I like it!)
the palm of hearts in the arugula salad w olive oil based dressing and almond flakes pleasantly complimented each other with texture and flavor
And I was very pleased with the pomodoro spaghetti. I usually don't get tomato based pasta because I've been disappointed many times at other italian ristorantes but I was very happy.
The truffle pasta was my moms favorite after the yellowtail crudo, while for me, I would rate it a 4/5! I asked for some red peppers and more parmeggiano to add some flavor
The chefs and servers were very attentive and helpful and we asked for hot water and she gave us a whole bottle (thank you!!)
The tiramisu, tho small, was amazing as well. Cream was not too thick, ladyfingers or thewhatever bread they use were not soggy
Overall, I wish I could give this place a 4.6/5 but Yelp only has five star System so I put 4!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
