MS started this cold war. In the xbox360 era it was MS that did not want cross-play while SONY was open for it.

And yes if ms and Nintendo can take craps for what they're doing wrong so to can Sony. Sony are not blameless and when they're doing something wrong whether they are in front of sales or not doesn't matter, fact is cross play can bring all sorts in the future, wait till it develops as a service and even PlayStation fanboyz and haters end up regretting there choice of sticking by them because of all the cool things it can bring with updates.

Since MS is so pro-gamers it should launch its "exclusive" on PS4. So everyone could play all the games without being forced to buy a console just for that. Be the pro-gamers you claim to be, MS.

Sony didn't continue to cry like a bitch last gen when MS shut down Sony with regards to cross game play. MS really are pathetic for continuing to ask for this.

If MS agreed last gen to what Sony offered then we would have cross platform already since last gen so it is in fact MS fault.

Here is the thing though. From a business perspective I understood why they shut down Sony last gen. They were in the lead and if they allowed it it would help Sony out a lot since people will not have to chose a X360 to play with gamers on xboxlive which was the dominant network.

Sony also understood and didn't continue to cry like a bitch like MS are doing now. Sony understood it was just business. MS and their fans really need to stop begging for this because it's pathetic. Sony fans last gen didn't continue to bitch about it last gen.

Sony is being hard assed because they're on top right now. I can see no good reason why cross play for 3rd party titles isn't allowed, and no good reason why we can't change our PSN ID either. Yet we have to pay that bloody 60 dollars every year. Bet money that if PS4 wasn't doing so well or if online player count dropped, then they would start to listen more to the wants of the same people who pay their bills. Are we really asking for that much?

Sony isnt agreeing to cross play because MS requires everyone doing cross play with an xbox console to have an xbox live account. This is just MS trying to artifically pump up xbox live numbers.

i wish people would stop with the cross play bull. last gen MS was ahead and didn't want to do it, and for good reason. When a console is dominating the market it forces people, that might not buy the console, to buy it because most likely their friends already own it. So now you want Sony to make it easier for a potential customer to choose the other console because cross play will allow the person to purchase the competing console and still be able to play with their friends that own the ps4?

I guess people forget what happened last generation. (Sony was losing the console (sells) war and MS was killing it. Sony tried to allow cross gaming play with X360 and MS said nah not to day broham. Now that MS is losing the console war they swiftly changed their tune, but Sony is also wiser and knows that this would only benefit MS if they accept any form of condition with cross play. Would it be nice for gamers? sure but it's definitely not necessary.

I said it once and I will say it again, Cross play would be a disaster, filled with console trolls and fanboys attacking each other and no way for Sony (or Microsoft) to ban or block troublemakers from each others network.
This is a fantasy and a mistake, Just like all the people that think MS, Sony and Nintendo should get together and make one "super" console. It would be a loss for all involved, especially the consumer. eliminating competition and giving consumers only one choice never ends with a quality experience or a fair price.

This is bullcrap posturing on Microsoft's part. They already KNOW that Sony is not going to be open to cross platform play. They've already made that clear to gamers. So MIcrosoft makes an attempt to "open communications" knowing the answer will be no, but they appear as the good guy.
