The two-time Oscar-nominated actress, 40, married her Italian boyfriend in the northern Italian city of Trevisio (about an hour north of Venice) on Saturday. The couple held a reception in Venice on Friday night which famous guests like Anne Hathaway and Chastain’s Zero Dark Thirty costar Edgar Ramirez attended. Though the couple has been dating since 2012, they have kept their relationship super private, with Chastain rarely opening up about her romantic life in interviews. The aristocratic family became owners of the lavish Villa Tiepolo Passi estate where the couple will get married in the 1800s, though it has been around since the 17th century. Before the Passi de Preposulo, the estate was owned by the noble Valier family and the Tiepolo family during the Napoleonic era. His last name means peace and his family history is really cool According to the Villa’s website, their last name has a special meaning — peace. They inherited the moniker in 1307 when the then-Count de Preposulo negotiated peace between two warring factions, the Guelf and Ghibelline. That earned the count, who held important positions in the city of Bergamo, the title of peacemaker and his family was from then on known as Passi de Preposulo from the local word pas, meaning peace. Chastain’s new husband works in high fashion and got his start at Armani where he worked as the director of public relations. He now works for French fashion brand Moncler.
