Experience the classical Indian dance tradition of Kuchipudi with Jaikishore and Padmavani Mosalikanti, an acclaimed dance duo and leading exponents of this art form. Kuchipudi is an Indigenous classical dance form of the dance-drama tradition, originating from the Indian village of Kuchipudi in Andhra Pradesh. It has its roots in the ancient Hindu text on the tenets of performing arts. Kuchipudi is not merely dance but a creative and artistic path to reach the highest goal – union of the body and soul. Jaikishore and Padmavani Mosalikanti will demonstrate and explain different aspects of Kuchipudi dance forms, followed by time for Q&A.

About the performers:

Husband and wife performers Jaikishore and Padmavani Mosalikanti are internationally acclaimed Kuchipudi dancers from India. They are direct disciples of Sri Vempatti Chinna Satyam, one of the dancers and teachers who stylized and popularized it worldwide. Jaikishore Mosalikanti has rapidly emerged as an accomplished dancer with an uncanny understanding of the nuances of the art. His technical perfection, flexibility, and complete transformation into the character he depicts have won him admirable accolades along the globe. Padmavani Mosalikanti was initiated into dance at a very young age and has grown to be a Kuchipudi champion. She is a guru who can impart knowledge of Kuchipudi dance, philosophy, spirituality, and art with great compassion.
