Today I want to review another golden gem in gaming. By golden gem I mean a game that is AMAZING and might have easily been passed up.

Herc's Adventures!

I am a sucker for a good "Open world" Adventure, and this game seems to deliver exactly that. I first played this game over at a friends house, who came across this game because his parents decided to buy it for Christmas. This is basically a Hercules game that is a parody of the story. It was the Lucas Arts version over the Disney, and honestly this game takes the cake by far in my opinion.
You can choose between one of 3 characters and go on yet another great 2 player Co op Adventure. Roam across the world and see familiar characters from the Hercules story, such as Zeus and Hades, animated in a way that looks like a cartoon. The entire game looks like you are playing a cartoon and its super pleasing.

The Good.

This game is like a breathe of fresh air when it comes to action adventure titles. You will be traveling across vast lands fighting all sorts of bad guys from giants to the devil himself and his army. The open world is amazing to explore. There are tons of different sceneries keeping the games progression fresh. The bosses are a nice challenge and all come with an awesome presentation. You will be figuring out different ways to beat these guys as you go.

The powerups are super funny. You can literally throw trash at people, unleash a wild attacking bird, and other funny quirky attacks. It is a very animated game in literal and metaphorical, and that makes the adventure feel like a fun cartoon.

The Bad.

I seem to always get lost in this game. At some points you will be curious of where the hell to go, even with a full world map. Some of the landscapes have confusing mazes that will send you in circles for a while. Some might enjoy this aspect of gaming, but I would rather explore new lands or keep it liner than to run in circles. Still not a fatal flaw at all.. This game wont hold you up for too long, so dont worry.

The Ugly.

When you die in this game, it automatically sends you to the underworld. Hades says a speech about how you will never get out or something, and now you try to escape..... and by escape I mean fight hundreds of skeletons that annoyingly jump onto your back and drag you down. The more you die , the further into the underworld you get, and the more guys you have to fight off. It can be pretty ugly.

OVERALL SCORE 9/10 A GREAT GAME. SOLID!

This game has some flaws sure.... but the good stuff makes up for the bad stuff by a ton. You and a friend can spend hours grinding though this adventure and have a good night of amazing fun. I totally recommend this game gets played at least once a year if you enjoy it. It is never a bad game to come back to. I hope you enjoyed this episode of the golden gems of gaming!
