Kevin Spacey, the renowned 64-year-old American actor, was urgently hospitalized and underwent an MRI due to fears of a heart attack during the 15th Tashkent International Film Festival in Uzbekistan after experiencing numbness in one of his arms.

It is reported by The Sun.

He felt unwell during a tour of the ruins of Afrasiab in the ancient city of Samarkand, a settlement along the Silk Road.

The star of "House of Cards" was taken to the Innova Diagnostic Clinic in the city for a series of examinations, including an MRI, amid concerns of a possible heart attack. However, later, doctors clarified that he did not have any heart problems.

A source close to the actor reported, "Mr. Spacey was taken to the medical center due to health issues. Doctors and staff examined him, and it turned out that he had no heart problems."

Later that evening, the "House of Cards" star appeared on the festival stage, stating that his "health is normal, but this incident made me think about how fragile life is for all of us."

In his closing ceremony speech at the festival, he said, "Today, I experienced something unexpected here. I was examining all these extraordinary frescoes on the walls, and suddenly, my left arm went numb for about eight seconds. I immediately told the people I was with, and we went to the medical center. I spent the day there undergoing various tests. The staff took good care of me and even conducted an MRI. Everything turned out to be perfectly normal, and I am grateful that it was nothing more serious."

As previously reported by The Gaze, earlier this year, Spacey faced a series of sexual assault allegations dating back 22 years, involving four men. After the trial, Spacey spoke to the press, stating that the legal ordeal had been "humiliating" for him.

The 15th Tashkent International Film Festival took place in Tashkent and Samarkand from September 29 to October 2. Filmmakers from over 50 countries participated in the festival, ranging from Australia, Algeria, and Argentina to Estonia, the United States, and Japan. The jury was headed by the renowned Polish director of international stature, Krzysztof Zanussi, a laureate of awards from the Cannes, Berlin, and Venice film festivals.

Last year, Krzysztof Zanussi, who himself knows what war is like, provided shelter in his home for six Ukrainian families fleeing the Russian war. "My wife and I were deeply concerned about their fate. We accommodated them in our homes both in Warsaw and outside the city. Everyone found a place, including not only children but also their pets," the director explained at the time.

"I, too, have experienced war in my time. For me, it's something that brings back memories of childhood. I know very well what horror it is," added the director, who continues to closely follow the course of the Russian war in Ukraine.
