That’s not a silly question at all :)
Depends with what you’re comparing it with, and what wolf specie you mean. Compared with a coyote, a Gray wolf (Canis lupus) has a large and square snout. But it’s indeed not typically long, so you could say ‘medium sized long snout’, yes. Also, wolves have a larger nose pad.
You could compare some en profile pictures to see the differences:

^The grey is a Gray wolf, the orangish a Coyote. You can see the Gray wolf’s snout is square, and the coyote’s snout is pointy and smaller.
The Red wolf (Canis rufus) and Ethiopian wolf (Canis simensis) have a slimmer/smaller snout, which looks much more like a coyote, but there are some differences.
^The first one is a Ethiopian wolf, the last one a Coyote.
Red wolves and coyotes are difficult, since they crossbreed like crazy.
The snout of a coyote is sleeker than a Red wolf, and coyotes tend to have a longer, narrower, muzzle than a Red wolf.
