By Kyle O'Brien

Droga5 New York has hired Chioma Aduba as its president, starting in September. Aduba was formerly evp, head of business leadership at McCann New York.

In her new role, Aduba will be responsible for the performance of client relationships as well as playing an integral role in the agency’s operations.

“Chioma’s reputation as a dynamic leader and driver of growth, as well as the fact that she has always felt like a like-minded person who sees the industry and great work in a way that closely aligns with Droga5—this was the right moment for her to join the team,” said Dan Gonda, CEO, Droga5 New York in a statement. “We’re thrilled to have her on board and look forward to her helping the agency push forward and stay in front of what is next.”

At McCann New York, Aduba led the Lysol/Dettol brand, one of Reckitt Benckiser’s biggest brands across North America and Europe. As a business leader, her team developed a new master brand strategy to reposition the brand. She led the team that developed the “Protect Like a Mother/What It Takes To Protect” campaign, which won a Global Effie, a Jay Chiat Award and was shortlisted at both Cannes and The One Show. Prior to joining McCann in 2014, she worked at Grey New York across both business development and business leadership on brands including Marriott Hotels, Gillette and Hasbro.

“I am thrilled to be stepping into the role of president at Droga5 New York,” said Aduba in a statement. “I have long admired this agency, its creative excellence and its commitment to brand building. I am looking forward to driving measurable business results and creating culture-defining work as Droga5 embarks on its next chapter.”

This is the most recent addition for Accenture Song, which most recently added Bryan Yasko, former president of and partner at Johannes Leonardo; Sean Lyons, former global CEO of R/GA; and Annette King, former CEO of Publicis U.K., to its leadership team.
