Newspaper reports linking Derby County's Grzegorz Rasiak with a move to West Ham have been played down by the club's director of football Murdo Mackay. Polish newspaper Super Express quoted the player's agent, Giorgio De Giorgis, as saying the newly-promoted club had enquired about Rasiak during the play-offs and were now preparing a £1.5m bid. The article also quoted the Polish international as saying he'd have a look at an offer if one came in. But Murdo Mackay was quick to deny Rasiak, who scored 17 goals for the Rams last season, is ready to leave. He said: "He's just gone on to a new two-year contract and he's intimated to us that he wants to stay at the club. "Agents are always trying to move players and it's possible Giorgio has been misunderstood. His English isn't the best. "We've had no indication from the player or his advisers that, having signed a new contract, he was anything other than happy here. "With players like Greg, you're always going to get speculation and agents are always going to tout their players around other clubs. "But West Ham haven't made any formal representation and if they did, on a personal level I'd tell them to go away and jump in the Thames." |
