Synopsis

From IGN October 2002 - BLINX: TIME SWEEPER is an action game featuring a cool new character in wild, warped worlds. You are BLINX, a cat on a deadline to fix problems in time. With the help of your trusty and powerful Time Sweeper, the TS1000, recover time crystals and fight Time Monsters in your attempt to rescue a princess. Time Travel beckons you!

Introduction 

Many past platformers, games and series are receiving special treatment, like Voodoo Vince, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro: The Dragon, Psychonauts, and more. All of these platformers from the '90s or early '00s have either been re-released in HD, fully remastered, or were given a sequel. Why not Blinx: The Time Sweeper, the original unofficial mascot for the original Xbox?

Blinx: The Time Sweeper may do well with a full remaster if the rights were re-acquired by Microsoft or Xbox or bought by another developer and published with the recommendation and help from Microsoft and Xbox.

The 5 Reasons for Remastering 

#1. The 20th Anniversary of the original release will be in 2022 and potentially offers good timing. 

#2. Blinx the character and the game have a classic platformer style and nostalgia to them. A remastered game would serve well along with the other platformers on the current market.

#3. A Platinum Family Hits release of Blinx: The Time Sweeper is in existence. This may prove the game's ability to meet past sales standards and potentially fuel future expectations.

#4. The globalized video game market & the Internet can aid in advertising. Again, the potential exists for a higher rate of return on sales today vs original 2002 release sales because of social media and introducing new players to the game.

#5. Passionate, loyal and long-term gamers and communities are in existence, most of which still own their original physical disc. These communities online can be found in the form of Blinx: The Time Sweeper fansite and Discord channel. Links can be found below.

Xbox Game Studios or a responsible alternative should acquire the rights to Blinx: The Time Sweeper for the purpose of a remaster or sequel. This has the potential to follow up with the many other remastered games that have been brought back to life. For example, Activision's reboot of Crash Bandicoot and Spyro: The Dragon.

We Petition - For Xbox Game Studios and Microsoft to build a full remaster of Blinx: The Time Sweeper. If legal hurdles present too difficult a challenge, we petition for Microsoft to call upon an alternative publisher and developer to oversee the production of this project.
