Fiat Lux By Luciano Shipping This July
The art of smoking is a contemplative one, and ACE Prime has gone for a more reflective approach when naming its newest release. Fiat Lux by Luciano has a phrase associated with the quest for knowledge and deeper meaning, as Fiat Lux is Latin for “let there be light.”
Blended by ACE Prime co-founder Luciano Meirelles, Fiat Lux is rolled with a high-priming Ecuador Sumatra wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and a mix of Nicaraguan fillers from Pueblo Nuevo, Jalapa and Ometepe. All the tobaccos used were grown on ACE Prime’s farms in both countries. According to Meirelles, the cigars are medium in body.
The Luciano brand previously consisted of only two smokes: Luciano The Traveler, which measures 7 inches long by 46 ring, and Luiciano The Dreamer, which measures 7 1/2 by 38. Both began as limited-edition smokes; The Dreamer (which rated 92 points in Cigar Aficionado) is now in regular production.
Debuting at the PCA trade show in Las Vegas in July, Fiat Lux will begin shipping to retailers immediately afterward. It’s a full line, with four vitolas: Acumen, measuring 6 inches by 56 ring gauge ($10.75); Geniuses, 5 1/2 by 52 ($10); Intuitions, 5 by 50 ($9.50) and Insights, 5 5/8 by 46 ($8.75). Fiat Lux ships in boxes of 20.
Like all ACE Prime cigars, Fiat Lux by Luciano is made at Tabacalera Pichardo in Nicaragua and distribution in the U.S. will be handled by Crowned Heads LLC.
