Kelsea Ballerini is turning her saddest moments into her biggest triumphs.
The 29-year-old country singer made her Saturday Night Live musical debut with Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce serving as host. Although it was her first time on the coveted stage, it was clear that she was in her element and quickly left fans speechless in more ways than one.
Dressed in a skin-tight catsuit with see-through mesh cutouts from head to toe, the country singer performed a flawless version of "Blindsided" from her recently released EP Rolling Up the Welcome Mat.
After sharing her performance on Instagram, fans immediately bombarded Kelsea's comments with congratulations on the career milestone. People left messages like, "Our queen did that 👏👏👏👏" and "Was screaming 'yes girl' at the tv 😂."
But, most of all, fans' jaws were dropping to the floor once they heard the new verse that Kelsea added to the end of her performance. "Now you’re singing out loud on the radio / But you’re the only heart that breaks,” she sang. “You would’ve searched the whole world over. Yeah, sure. OK.”
The new verse was a direct response to her ex-husband Morgan Evans as the two continue to share their versions of the past relationship with new songs and lyrics. Fans were quick to catch the obvious lyric change and ran straight to the comment section to write:
- "Can we PLEASE get this version added to the EP!? 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻"
- "Yeah, sure, okay merch needed STAT"
- "Petition to re-record blindsided with THIS ENDING PLS 😫🤌🏼😭🫶🏻💗"
Later in the show, Kelsea did a 180 as she changed from her sultry jumpsuit to a flowing white gown as she performed "Penthouse," another track from her recent EP, that gave us literal goosebumps.
While some listeners weren't a fan of Kelsea's EP that chronicled her failed marriage with Morgan Evans, the singer remained unfazed (like the queen she is) and celebrated her SNL performance backstage with family, friends and newly confirmed beau, Chase Stokes.
As a returning host for this year's CMT Music Awards and her ongoing "HEARTFIRST" tour, there's nowhere to go but up for the young artist!
