Through My Window 2 has finally arrived on Netflix so fans can be reunited with Raquel and Ares.
The sequel, officially titled Through My Window: Across the Sea, landed on the streaming service on June 23. At the end of the first movie, Ares went off to study, so can their love story survive the long distance?
This won't be the end of their romance either, as Netflix confirmed two sequels in February 2022 following the first movie's success. We know that a third movie is on the way, but we just don't know much more about it yet.
But let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. Here's everything you need to know about Through My Window 2.
Through My Window 2 release date: When will Through My Window 2 be on Netflix?
As mentioned above, Through My Window: Across the Sea is available to watch right now on Netflix.
Its June 2023 release was a delay from the first movie's early February release window, so it remains to be seen if the third movie will be released in February 2024, or if we're getting a double helping of Raquel and Ares in 2023.
Through My Window 2 trailer: Watch the Through My Window 2 trailer here!
On February 20, 2023, Netflix released the first teaser trailer for Through My Window: Across the Sea when it confirmed the release date.
It's light on plot details, but it's a new look all the same, so check it out below if you missed it:
Through My Window 2 cast: Who's coming back in Through My Window 2?
It wouldn't be a Through My Window movie without the central couple, so Clara Galle and Julio Peña are obviously back as Raquel and Ares, respectively.
They'll be joined by returning actors Guillermo Lasheras as Raquel's friend Yoshi, as well as Eric Masip and Hugo Arbués as Ares's unpredictable brothers Artemis and Apolo.
The sequel will also feature newcomers Andrea Chaparro, Ivan Lapadula and Carla Tous, but we don't yet know who they'll be playing. All we know is that we've been promised that they'll add new twists to Raquel and Ares's love story.
Whether we see Ares's parents and Raquel's mother remains to be seen, but it's likely a given. Despite their screen presence being peripheral, their impact on the plot of the first film was big.
Through My Window 2 plot: What will Through My Window 2 be about?
Based on Ariana Godoy's book of the same name (in Spanish, it's titled A través de mi ventana), the first movie gave us an open but happy ending for Raquel and Ares. (If you didn't watch the film, you can check out the full ending explained.)
The short version of it is that while Raquel and Ares are deeply in love, they agree to break up as they both head to university — Ares to study medicine, and Raquel to study literature.
However, the final moments of the movie feature Ares climbing through Raquel's window, with the two clearly still enamoured with each other.
The sequel picks up from this ending, with our young lovers realising that a long-distance relationship is tougher than they expected. Expect the couple to face challenges, such as whether Ares's brothers will ever really accept Raquel.
Perhaps more worryingly, the film will need to address whether Raquel will forgive Yoshi for his fight with Ares in the first movie — and maybe give in to his advances with Ares away in Stockholm...
Godoy has written a sequel called Through You (A través de ti), which may have provided inspiration for the movie. If you want to get ahead of the curve, you can buy the sequel book right now.
Godoy is working on the sequel with Netflix, so we can imagine that whatever liberties are taken will be done with her input.
The third novel, A través de la lluvia, is only available on Wattpad for now and focuses on the youngest Hidalgo brother, Apolo. The already confirmed third movie could very well follow this, but nothing has been confirmed.
