Jackass Forever was released last year to box office success and a lot of love from fans, but the reunion turned out to be less enjoyable for Steve-O.

Speaking to NME, the stunt performer looked back at the film, specifically the moment in which Johnny Knoxville was flipped over by a bull and severely injured, and recalled realising that they need to draw a line.

"This last Jackass movie… it was kind of a bummer, man," he said. "It's not fun to watch Knoxville get hit in the head any more.

"I wrote this text to the whole cast that day, thanking Knoxville for the sacrifices he's made for this team, and also begging that he stops with the brain trauma. It was one of my more serious and sincere messages."

Knoxville confirmed in January 2022 that the incident with the bull had left him with a fractured wrist and ribs. He also had a concussion resulting in brain haemorrhage and damage, and noted that his cognitive abilities "were in steep decline" afterwards.

He added that he also experienced a period of depression after the accident and had a "really hard recovery".

Machine Gun Kelly also featured in the film in a stunt involving foam hands, a bike and a swimming pool. It's not a bit Steve-O looks back on fondly.

"I love Machine Gun Kelly; I just wish the actual stunt we had him participate in had been at a higher level," he said.

One person who didn't feature in Jackass Forever much was Bam Margera, who has a long history of substance issues and alleged in February 2021 that he was fired during production.

Steve-O says that he "would love to hear something encouraging" regarding Bam's battles with addiction.

Speaking before reports that Margera had checked himself out of rehab earlier this month, Steve-O added: "It's a shame that you can't make people want to get better. He's not going to get better because I want him to get better, and I can't make him want to get better.

"If he ever does choose recovery then, man, I'm here for him."'

Jackass Forever is available to stream on Paramount+, NOW and Sky Go.

In his time he's covered a host of live events, interviewed celebrities big and small and crowbarred a countless amount of great/awful (delete as appropriate) puns into articles.

A big fan of TV and movies both mainstream and obscure, Joe's main interest is in video gaming. Although particularly a PlayStation gamer, he plays across Xbox, Nintendo and PC/Steam Deck, and likes to keep tabs on many games he's not got the time to play.

Joe currently does not use Twitter, but he only ever used it to tell people to watch the film Help! I'm a Fish (which you really should do).
