Lace and surroundings

Pizzo is a picturesque village with a clear and crystalline sea on the Tyrrhenian coast, perched on a tufaceous promontory that protrudes over the sea, rising from the mouth of the river Angitola, to the Marina beach, in the middle of the Gulf of Sant'Eufemia. It took the name of Pizzo (pizzu, rupe in dialect) because of the characteristic and picturesque appearance of its position. Its territory includes a jagged coastline with almost 9 km of wide beaches and comfortable, sandy in some stretches (the beach of Seggiola and the Marina) and from rocks on the shore and natural bays in others, and further south, the coast becomes rocky with numerous coves and areas rich in natural rocks, as well as several caves. The beach of Pizzo starts with the arena of the locality Calamaio or Angitola, which takes its name from the nearby locality of the same name. It is a free, wide and long beach, only a few kilometers behind it, and is surrounded by a dense, cool public pinewood of pines marinas, the result of human work. It is made of fine white sand and is very suitable for children. Along this beach you can find wrecks of ancient marine dunes. The Marinella Beach, which takes its name from the homonymous village, is a very long beach, about a few kilometers, and wide and of fine white sand, and with equipped tourist beaches and bars. and restaurants. It is also called A Tunnara, because the marinasona beach, in the prices of the river Angitola, is called to Tonnara Angitola, as it was once devoted to the flourishing fishing and tuna processing. The last beach of Marinella is the Savelli beach. A short distance, about 500 meters from the coast of the beach Savelli (going south) in the waters to report the dry spina (so called for its herringbone shape and parallel to the coast) and the dry Favata (the same distance from the coast by going north to Lamezia), a destination for diving and underwater fishing lovers because both the dry are rich in fish, saraghi and horns.
