NON SOLO PIZZA

Non Solo Pizza is a Parnell institution. Tucked away behind the row of shops on the main street, the Italian restaurant is famed for their traditional Italian fare and has become synonymous with long lunches and late dinners.

With 2020 being that year, the owners decided it was time for a refresh, and the mid-year school holidays were allocated for a complete overhaul. Enlisted by Envoy Construction and Auckland Interiors company, Izzard Design, we got to making.

The restaurant is divided into two parts, an open archway (shaped by Fieldcraft) separating the indoors from the out. The interior is moody and romantic, providing an intimate, fine-dining vibe, in contrast to the generous, well-lit open-air patio space, designed for al fresco dining. We started indoors.

Alongside the maître de station, the bar area required a complete overhaul with new bar tops and a back-bar shelving unit measured, designed, built and installed. The bespoke unit was crafted from American Oak, with up-lit LED lighting designed to illuminate the significant display of alcohol. The notable feature of the interior bar is the three arched display shelves, featuring the large smoked mirrors framed in powder-coated aluminium.

Booth and benches, both indoors and out, provide space for diners to sit awhile and enjoy their dining experience. Timber seating was built in conjunction with Envoy Construction, with Lou from Snick applying the finishing touches, upholstering the indoor booths with a deep forest green and an unconventional green and white stripe for the exteriors, fresh - with just a nod to the traditional.

With this significant refresh, it can be assured that Non Solo Pizza, will continue to be a favourite with Aucklanders for many years to come.
