Actor. Brother of the well-known playwright and theater director Pietro Garinei and father of Andrea Garinei (1966-2016), Enzo Garinei was a prolific theater, television and film actor, as well as one of the main character actors on the Italian scene. He made his debut in "Signorinella" in his early twenties, followed by "Totò le Mokò", with Totò he shot many films as a character actor directed by Mario Mattioli, Mario Monicelli and Camillo Mastrocinque. To his film and television career, Garinei has always accompanied his theatrical one, in particular in musical comedies. In 1997-1998 he starred, alongside Delia Scala and Gerry Scotti in the television series "Io e la Mamma" as well as in some episodes of the TV series "Don Matteo". In 2008 and 2009 he was among the protagonists of "Facciamo L' Amore", alongside Gianluca Guidi and Lorenza Mario and "Aggiungi un posto a tavola", always alongside Gianluca Guidi and with Marisa Laurito. In the 2017-2018 theatrical season and again in the 2019-2020 season he is back on tour with the new edition of "Aggiungi un posto a tavola". Until 2008 he was also occasionally a voice actor, the best known character he played as a voice actor is probably that of George Jefferson (played by Sherman Hemsley) of the sitcom The Jeffersons (1975-1985). He also voiced Stan Laurel in some comedies and movies. In July 2009 he won the special award "Alberto Sordi" Leggio d'oro.
