Tori Spelling is getting vocal about a health struggle her family has been going through behind closed doors.

The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum left fans concerned after she posted an alarming Instagram post on May 10. The photos showed the actress at an urgent care with her five children (whom she shares with husband Dean McDermott). She explained to followers that it wasn't the first time they had seeked medical care, as they've been feeling ill for months. As it turns out, her kids kept getting sick from mold inside their rented home.

"Let’s talk about MOLD," she wrote in the caption. "Here we are again at urgent care. We’ve all been on this continual spiral of sickness for months ... When it gets to the point where [my children were] at home sick more than being in school, we had to reassess what was going on."

Tori later detailed her kids' continued symptoms, including skin rashes, dizziness and her youngest son Finn's strep throat. She also noted how she moved them out of their house in order to figure out next steps.

"It’s hard to just uproot a huge family especially in midst of all feeling so sick and in bed," she continued. "But, we now will vacate the home asap. Looking for an @airbnb or @vrbo or hotel till we can even grasp what to do. We are just renters so looks like moving is in our eminent future as well. Grateful we have renter's insurance. We’d be lost how to tackle this without ... Has anyone been [through] mold sickness? The deeper dive I do online sadly I see how common this is 😢."

When fans heard about Tori and her family's health issues, they rallied around her online. "💔 we’re here for you," one person wrote in the Instagram comments. "[Oh my gosh] we had it in our house too! And we went through the same spiral!" another added. "We have been in your shoes. I am SO SORRY!!" a different follower replied.

Sadly, Tori's situation is something that happens relatively often. The New York State Department of Health shares that mold typically grows where there is a high level of moisture in the home, as a result of plumbing leaks or excess steam from bathrooms and kitchens. Just as the actress' family has experienced, symptoms triggered by mold exposure can widely vary, ranging from wheezing to headaches and developing rashes. Serious infections stemming from mold are often rare and affect those with weakened immune systems, but mold can impact most anyone's respiratory system in a myriad of ways.

When it comes to detecting mold in your home, NYS DOH materials indicate that home owners can spot mold as fuzzy, oddly colored or slimy spots that visibly grow in size over time — along with a distinct smell. The agency also recommends looking for water stains, warping and pungent odors to determine whether there is mold spreading in living spaces. There are several ways to get rid of mold, including specific instructions for black mold removal.

Tori hasn't shared further details about her family's situation. But we're sending all our love and we hope everyone feels better soon!
