comic art by Zoran Janjetov

Born in Subotica, Zoran Janjetov resided in Novi Sad from 1969. During his training at the Art Academy of Novi Sad, he published his first short stories at the age of eighteen, in (student) magazines like Student, Vidici, Mladost, Neven, Mali neven, Omladinske novine, Dzuboks, Maslacak, Yu strip, and Cepelin. He developed many interests, among them American TV series of the 1950s and 60s. Adapting the style of Moebius, he created the series 'Bernard Panasonik' in Yu Strip 1982 (published in album by Bizzarta in Belgrade in 1990).

After taking part in an exhibition of Yugoslavian comics in Paris in 1986, he met Moebius, for whom he did the coloring of two volumes of 'L'Incal'. He then succeeded Moebius on the series 'La Jeunesse de John Difool', of which he made six episodes with scriptwriter Alejandro Jodorowsky for Les Humanoïdes Associés between 1988 and 1994. Also with Jodorowsky, he created 'Les Technopères' in 1997. Janjetov proved himself as one of the most talented successors of Moebius, who has developed a more personal style along the way.
