Hmm, A fun game with a few irritations. Collision detection feels way off with my car getting demerits for being within the vicinity of a sprite rather than hitting the sprite. Graphics and sound are good and its a simple but fun little arcade conversion.

All 8-bit computer formats feature uniquely designed visual and audio soundtracks.
Soundtrack designed expertly by David Whittaker!

All formats feature excellent scrolling and are very fun to play!

A couple of complaints. The side score board is hard to see. And you lose a demerit just for touching other cars?! Don’t like that🤨

Otherwise a nice game and recommended 😅

Good graphics, OK sound FX and decent, if unspectacular, music. Very enjoyable gameplay which captures the 'essence' of the coin-op quite well and large play map to zip through.
Nothing life changing but a solid 7 out of 10.

I bought this on disk, so I must have really wanted it. It got a rave review in Zzap! 64 so that's probably why. It was actually a lot of fun, open world games weren't common on the C64. It was nice to be able to go off and explore, take detours across the grass, make litter maps of where the bad guys cars start from and such.

Because I enjoyed the arcade game so much I met this game with so much anticipation. I was left disappointed. So many (if not all) arcade conversions on the 8bit systems were just terrible.

Yeah... It ran too fast or something, didn't it? Loved it in the arcade though.

This was a goodie. A simple top down driving game with cool little objectives. Was functional enough graphically but the nice scrolling and gameplay overcame this. Good fun. :)

A genius of a game, really unique gameplay... Awesome conversion actually plays a lot better than the arcade game it was converted from... 75/100 for mine!

I thought this game was absolutely brilliant! The man that did it is fabulous and I would love to meet him (Carleton?). He has written many good games by the looks of it including Wanderer 3D. FANTASTIC!

Cheers Jeffo, I wrote this. Graham below is somebody I work with trying to wind me up :0)

What are you giving it, this game was excellent fun, a great conversion
Gilo 2003-04-26
To be fair, this was a pretty conversion. All the elements
from the arcade were there. The joystick waggling required to get the later suspects to confess strained even my wwell developed wrist. 7/10
Graham Goring 2002-09-16
I was always mystified by the good marks this conversion got because it always seemed extremely poor to me. Still, what would you expect from the genius behind Wanderer 3D?
