Never played it on the Amiga - but I am sure its not worth any try. I hate this game, complete crap. Touch the wall and stand still What a unrealistic bs. No fun at all - the slowdown when touching a wall ruins all. I did never understand the hype around this game.

Probably the most impressive classic Amiga game ever made! Amiga version is also the best version out there techincally. It has much better graphics than console and PC versions and also has new features which other versions are missing. Sure, it needs PPC and 3D graphics card but the game is just freaking AWESOME! If you have access to the game just make sure that you play it using CD32 joypad for eg. Joypad is absolutely essential for a good gameplay. The only flaw on Amiga version is the soundtrack. Sure, Cold Strorage does awesome job here but I was really left missing the tracks by The Prodigy, Underworld and The Chemical Brothers.
I remember sometime around 2000 showing WipEout 2097 Amiga for my friends who had long ago abandoned their Amigas and bought PlayStations instead. Their jaws dropped to the floor when they saw Amiga version. One of my friends just refused to believe that the game was running on Amiga and thought that it was somekind of a trick. I had really hard time to convice him that the game was really running on my towered A1200. Anyway, everybody should get to play WipEout 2097 on Amiga. It's just that bloody awesome game and it shows that back in 2000 Amiga was still able to amaze people on gaming front!

This Amiga port of WipEout 2097 was released when the sequel Wipe3Out was already available on other platforms. It is based on the PC release, not the PlayStation version, so it comes with nine audio tracks which were produced by Cold Storage. The PlayStation version featured tracks by The Prodigy, Underworld, and The Chemical Brothers.
