I have to agree with most here, excellent music and design, nice graphics, plays well too. A gem on the Amiga CD32's library. A game I like to play around Christmas, as it feels somewhat magical. Fun game, which I still own on the Amiga CD32.

In this version I really the music, better colours and extra bonus areas. Tough gameplay due to instant death But not too difficult that you may immediately give up
If you learn how to avoid all those annoying enemies and take your time to master it THEN this game becomes very addictive! For me the best levels were in World 5, from Worlds 6 and 7 the gameplay became surprisingly short, probably from there they quickly rushed the development of the game.

This CD32 version has extra graphics such as the background in level 1 and new CD music which make it worth having. It took me until November 2017 to get this running with music, and it was worth the wait. The game itself is as wonderful as ever and will always have a place in my heart. (8/10)

Unlike many CD32 conversions Fire and Ice offers new graphics, some new sound effects, CD audio tracks. The game is the same, with its ups and downs (7/10).

A very good platformer with nice graphics and some very original ideas of power-ups or level completion. Highly recommended, though having some in-game tunes would be nice.

Nice game version of OCS-ECS, equally with regard to the CD32. In the latter, however, you can enjoy the sea floor in AGA really scary. Even the music in this CD version, resonated with abundance. Game of undoubted historical value, son of Andrew Braybrook.

Just got the thing to work via winuae--beautiful game with 'whistle-bump' 80's-90's sound effects--well done. Rather easy but can be tricky--the controls match stick movement well, but there is a 'slipping on ice' physics effect--something like the slipping movement of the Zool character on the 'icing' sections of the playfield.
Fun to play

I don't like this one, but I love the original! It's very hard to explain why... To me everything original is better. For example I have never used emulators and I never will.

Love this one. Love it! One of my favourite games of all time. The stunning backgrounds and other visual tweaks made me go, "Whoa!" the first time I played this version. The CD music tracks are awesome too.
The "finale" type level when you finish the game is different on this CD version. Rather than heading to the colourful party room as seen in other versions of Fire and Ice, on the CD edition you actually get sent straight back to Cool Coyote's igloo... Or house... Or mansion. Whatever it is, it's a whole lot bigger on the inside!
In this version (and the DOS one too) the puppies are miniature clones of Cool Coyote! While I can't be sure, I believe the reason why they were puppies in the first release was because Cool Coyote was originally going to be a large puppy himself, according to his original sprite designs. Don't worry; you adjust to the tiny coyotes after a while too!
A charming and very addictive game that really makes use of the fact that a CD can hold a lot of data. Go on, go play it!!

I bought this when I got my CD32 unit. I've played the floppy version as well but much prefer the CD32 version thanks to the nifty backgrounds and extra music. It just looks and sounds better with the extra bits. The action on the main character is smooth as silk! I love that little bounce he has and felt it was all very well done. The main character is very likable, in fact I prefer this guy to Zool and other Amiga platform characters. Afterall, Zool didn't have cute little puppies following him around! Recently I gave this another go (emulated floppy version) and still find it a fun way to waste 20 or 30 minutes (or more). I do remember the latter levels being a little weak but it's still among my favorite games of this type on any platform. I'll have to plug up my CD32 some time and give this a go on it as well.

This platform was OK I thought, there was worse at the time from what I can remember, but hey the GFX were nice and colourful, sound was OK and it was something you could get into straight away, no fussy control system plain and basic.

I so much wanted to like this game - the graphics are stunning, gameplay is smooth and the characters are colourful and jolly. But the level design just doesn't compare with Nintendo's Mario games. (I played the OCS version).

Very polished and technically super (I played the disk version but as it's not listed here, I have to comment CD32 version). All that the game lacks is spirit. It's great when you start playing it but in the end I got bored with it. Also it's a bit too slow for my taste.

An excellent platformer for the CD32 - its the gameplaying equivalent of being left overnight in a chocolate factory! You will be addicted to this game from the first play and be still playing it months (years?) later.

I have only played the floppy version, but good graphics at that time... The sound was not so good.. And playability was... Well..OK.
