What are Slow Art Retreats? Slowing down to live the good life! Sun, sea, long meals, big views.. We’ll explore a beautiful new place with like-minded new friends, soaking it all in through sketchbooking, watercolor, photography— no experience or skills necessary. I’ve planned an awesome itinerary to enjoy all the best of the area, plus we’ll have time to check in with ourselves (take a nap, a swim, get lost in the old town with gelato in hand).. Slow living at its best!!

Not only is Tropea a place I’ve been dreaming about for years, it was recently awarded Italy’s Prettiest City of 2021!! * It also boasts the seal of the Bandiera Blu, which means its shores have won international recognition for their ultra clean water (though it only takes a google image search to see for yourself)! The historic town of Tropea sits atop what’s aptly called the Coast of the Gods and is simply enchanting. Its well preserved 16th century city center was built by noble families who constructed their palace homes on the spectacular cliff above the sea. And WE will be staying in such a palace (turned boutique hotel)— in fact I’ve bought out all their rooms for our private retreat home! The rooms are comfortable though basic, while the main attraction will be our shared terrace with sunset sea views— aaaaaahhhhhhhh (long delighted sigh).

A note about rooms and pricing: Each room has only one bed, so it will be a smaller group than usual— which I think is perfect after our crazy year! There are 6 available rooms total, the 3 Classic Ensuites ($3600) are the smallest, while the 3 Superior Ensuites ($3900) a bit larger. For these 3 Superiors the bed can be made up as two twin beds (though still sharing a headboard so right next to each other). If you are coming with your partner or bff and would like to share one of these rooms/beds I’m offering a special Companion Rate ($2900) for that second person only. Which means our retreat will be at minimum 6 people, and at maximum 9. That said, most people come solo so if you do want the share option, act quick! I’ve heard from SO MANY of you over this past year expressing a strong desire to join me, I may even try to add a third week (can you tell I’m a little excited about this destination?!)!
