Orlando Bloom Looks Ripped During a Beachside Swim

Orlando Bloom has been making fans thirsty ever since his breakout roles in the Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean franchises in the early 2000s—but if anything, he is in the best shape of his career now. The actor, 46, regularly shares glimpses of his intense muscle-building gym sessions on social media, and he is far from shy about showing off the results of all that hard work.

He was recently photographed on the beach in Antibes, France, with his muscular physique and toned abs on full display as he gave the paparazzi a cheeky smile before jumping into the sea for a swim. Bloom also shared a carousel of images from the same outing on his Instagram, captured by photographer Greg Williams in tasteful black and white.

Bloom's wife, pop star Katy Perry, gently teased her husband in the comments inexplicably for not shedding his hotel slides before taking a dip, remarking: "Very into slippers in the ocean," then adding in a separate comment: "Also I love you."

The couple have both recently given up drinking in a shared "pact" to stay sober for three months, which may explain why Bloom is looking even fitter than usual, as cutting back on alcohol can aid weight loss.

While Bloom was frolicking in the ocean just off Antibes, the reason for his presence in the South of France lay just down the coast, at the Cannes Film Festival, where he has been eliciting thirst on the red carpet as well as on the beach.

During a photo call for his new movie Gran Turismo (an adaptation of the long-running video game racing series) on the last day of the festival, Bloom went shirtless under a Paul Smith suit, showing just a hint of that defined chest—and likely getting a mild reprieve from the Riviera heat.
