what are ordinate and abscissa?
The distance along the horizontal axis is called as an abscissa. In other words we can say the abscissa is the X-coordinate of a point on the coordinate plane.
And t​he distance along the vertical axis is called as an ordinate. In other words we can say the ordinate is the Y-coordinate of a point on the coordinate plane.
