Description of Pit-Fighter

Well, to make it short: Pit-Fighter is a horrible conversion of Atari's arcade beat'em up.

The arcade game was actually very good with nice digitized sprites and some cool effects, but the animations and graphics of the PC conversion look awful and just kill the game. I would put it up very high on the list of worst arcade conversions.

Not much else to say-- stay WAY clear of this one if you can help it. Better yet, play Mortal Kombat instead if you like this type of game.

Arcade version came out towards the end of the beat-em-up phase... (ie: arcades were moving on towards Vs fighters like Street Fighter 2). But, it was novel for it's use of realistic, digitized graphics. It was an ok beat-em-up, but just didn't have any of the gimmicky goodness that other beat-em-ups had (eg: you could nail people in the nuts in Crime Fighters, Comba-Tribes and others had way more moves you could do, etc). This lackluster PC port was just a cash grab to try to milk it for all it was worth.

One of the worst PC games ever released. Even in its release year, the game was to be found, in the bottom of the 1$ bin....

I cannot begin to count the number of quarters I wasted on the arcade version as well as owning the Genesis and SNES version. And now I find that there's a PC version, where was I when this came out?

Yeah, this seemed to be a theme at the time, using digitized actors to make a game.

Was a bad game even by yesteryears standards. Even the original was bad. It got quite good ratings because of its digitized graphics, which were quite impressive in 1991. May just be a collectors item.

i remember playing this game at aladdins castle in wichita falls texas. was pretty fun back then and only a quarter i recomend this game. even though i seen it had a crapy rating on another site by some one(that is older than me). i think its worth getting as a collector myself
