From Saweetie to Ryan Destiny, All the People Keith Powers Has Dated

In just a short amount of time, actor Keith Powers has already had several notable performances on screen. He's starred in "Straight Outta Compton," BET's "The New Edition Story," and "The Tomorrow War." The actor shows no signs of slowing down, either. He is now starring alongside Gabrielle Union in the new Netflix rom-com "The Perfect Find" and is set to appear in an upcoming film titled "The Uglies" with Joey King, Chase Stokes, and Laverne Cox.

When he isn't working, Powers prefers to stay out of the spotlight and maintains a private personal life, which applies to the people he dates. It's unclear if he's currently single or taken, but he has been linked to two people in the public eye: rapper Saweetie and fellow actor Ryan Destiny.

Powers and "My Type" rapper Saweetie began dating sometime in 2010, though the exact time that they met and started their relationship is unknown. The two kept their romance under wraps, with very little being revealed throughout their relationship.

In 2014, the pair called it quits, and Powers told "Hollywood Unlocked" shortly after the breakup, "I was in a relationship for four years from, like, 18 to 22. . . . We separated because it was just too toxic."

For years after his breakup from Saweetie, Powers appeared to be single. At a Teen Vogue party in 2015, however, he met actor Ryan Destiny. The two connected immediately but really got to know one another after talking on Instagram.

From that point on, they began dating but kept their relationship private, with Destiny revealing in a WeTheUrban digital cover in July 2019 (via People), "For a minute we tried to hide it for numerous reasons, but as human beings, sometimes you want to just shout to the world 'I love this person and I'm happy!' We try to find a balance. I'm already a private person and very career driven so reminding people that I am my own person is important."

Powers himself talked about the importance of their relationship in the interview, saying, "It is so important for our people to see healthy Black love. Whether it's a relationship, marriage or even friendships. . . . Black love gives us hope. When you see Black love flourish, it's powerful."

Despite the pair's strong bond, they ultimately broke up in January 2022, with a source telling People, "They're taking time to focus on themselves and their emerging careers but are remaining close friends."

The two were spotted together at the premiere of "The Perfect Find" on June 16, 2023, though there has been no confirmation if they have resumed their relationship.
