      paul d This is an excellent film in all respects: as a political and police thriller, as a historical drama, and as a morality tale. The acting and cinematography are superb. The complex story is constructed around one man, a police captain, and his attempt to unravel the famous 1969 bombing of a bank in Piazza Fontana in Milano. The backdrop is, of course, the cold war and the domestic political tensions, sometimes violent, between right-wing and left-wing factions in Italy. The plot might be difficult to follow for people who are not familiar with European politics in the 60's and 70's. For those viewers, there are a few basic notions, context, that might help. In those years, many European countries were bitterly divided politically. There were many, many different movements, big and small, all across the political spectrum. Violence was perpetrated at times by both the left and the right, including those who were state officials and were supposed to be neutral. Le piste che si seguono sono molteplici come molteplici sono state le indagini fatte sull'evento. Il film ha delle buone ambientazioni ma, a mio avviso, una recitazione migliorabile da parte di alcuni elementi. Ho invece apprezzato molto Valerio Mastandrea nella parte del commissario Calabresi.
