Mandas in brief – tourist information and more

Mandas, a small town in the Sardinia‘s hinterland, is about 60 km in the north of Cagliari. It has about 5.000 habitants and is located about 490 m above mean sea level. It is an ideal starting point to visit the Nuraghic monuments Su Nuraxi near Barumini and Arubia and to enjoy the landscape surrounding the reservoir of the Flumendosa lake.

In addition Mandas is one of the important stations of the Sardinian narrow gauge railway called Trenino Verde: the railroad lines Mandas – Arbatax and Mandas Sorgono are active from the middle of June to the middle of September.

Worth a visit also the shady park Parco Aymerich at Laconi, crossed by a multitude of streams.
