Big Dogs Bite Hard: Padres and Royals Win Longshot Bets

The two biggest baseball underdogs on the board won Tuesday, and the third-biggest one lost in extra innings.

That run of moneyline profit has fans eyeing another day of MLB dog action Wednesday after the Padres and Royals both paid out 2/1 odds and the Astros just missed in Philadelphia.

"The Twins and Athletics are the biggest underdogs today at Detroit and Texas, respectively, and these plays have been paying off lately," said Mike Pickett of OddsShark.com. "Oakland is particularly interesting, as they send 5-2 Tom Milone to the hill. But he faces Yu Darvish, and Texas is 6-1 in his starts, adding to the risk of the +225 bet."

Felix Hernandez faces Ubaldo Jimenez in one battle of fireballing righties. Seattle is a small road favorite at Cleveland in that game.

The most one-sided betting game of the day so far is Baltimore as a road dog at Kansas City. Nearly 70 percent of bettors are on the Orioles with Tommy Hunter throwing, according to the Odds Shark MLB consensus data.
