MMAG - colORCHESTRA Worldwide - Mia Mandineau, soprano
Meet the Artists!
Mia Mandineau, soprano, France
French soprano Mia Mandineau is quickly becoming recognized for her beautiful voice, sensitive artistry and compelling stage presence. Ms. Mandineau recently debuted at the Megaro Moussikis with the Athens State Orchestra in an exceptional concert celebrating the centenary of Xenakis, conducted by Nicolas Vassiliou. Her musicality and vocal quality did not go unnoticed by Greek critics, who acclaimed her sensitivity in such complexe contemporary repertoire. In the summer of 2023, she performed at the prestigious Theatre Festival ‘Printemps des Comédiens’ in Montpellier (France), in the successful play ‘Ismène’ by the Canadian author Carole Fréchette. In the same period, she debuted the role of Elle in Poulenc’s ‘La Voix Humaine’ which she co-produced with her stage partner the pianist and dancer Clément Rataud.
Ms. Mandineau was selected from amongst an international pool of young singers to participate in the prestigious Sir Georg Solti Accademia during the summer of 2022, where she coached with internationally acclaimed artists Barbara Frittoli, Roberto Frontali and Richard Bonynge. During the 2020-21 season, Ms. Mandineau debuted at Het Concertgebouw in a concert presented by the Grote Zangers Foundation; participated in masterclasses given by acclaimed artists including Sergei Leiferkus, Linda Watson, Bejun Mehta, Lenneke Ruiten, and Dr. Bretton Brown; and performed the role of Mère Marie in Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites as part of the CvA Concert Opera Series.
In addition to her work as a performer, Ms. Mandineau is passionate about arts education. As the founder of the successful YouTube channel L’Opéra et ses Zouz, she has enjoyed partnerships with the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, the Opéra National de Bordeaux, OperaVision, Detroit Opera, the National Swiss Opera, Palazzetto BruZane, and the national French radio and television. For her work on L’Opéra et ses Zouz, Ms. Mandineau received an important grant from the French National Centre of Cinematography (CNC) to further her work with the channel.
Ms. Mandineau was awarded a Fellowship to SUNY Fredonia School of Music and is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance, under the tutelage of Don Marrazzo, with whom she completed her Bachelor's Degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam (CvA) and her Artist Certificate at the Musical Horizons Conservatory in Athens.
