Giant Donut
This is no mere cake made to look like a donut. Deep fried, this giant strawberry and raspberry jelly donut is the real deal.

Ingredients
Ganache
- 7 ounces white cooking chocolate
- 3 1/2 fluid ounces thickened/whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon strawberries and cream essence (can sub for whatever essence flavour you like!)
- 2 drops pink food gel
Giant Donut
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup water, warm
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar, warm
- 1/4 cup evaporated milk, warmed to 110 degrees
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 14 3/4 ounces all-purpose flour, then more as needed
- 8 cups vegetable oil, for frying
- funfetti sprinkles
- cinnamon sugar to sprinkle
- 4 tablespoons raspberry jam
Steps
- Add white chocolate and cream into a large microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 20 seconds at a time, mixing each time until smooth.
- Add pink food gel and essence and mix until evenly coloured and well combined.
