On the occasion of the upcoming Milan Design Week, the second edition of the LABÒ project, curated by The Design Blender, will kick off in the Barona neighborhood. The industrial spaces of SPA - Società Prodotti Antibiotici - and Fondazione Rodolfo Ferrari will host a new selection of international designers, artists, art galleries and companies from April 15 to 18, 2024.
The Design Blender, a curatorial duo composed of Elsa Lemarignier and François Leblanc of Cicilia, presents-in the complex at Via Biella 6-a new installation that has as its object of investigation the luxe de création, matter and its processing, through collectible and premium design pieces that arise from the use of advanced artisanal or industrial techniques.
Inspired by the essence of the place, which has been devoted to medical research for over seventy years, LABÒ is configured as a forge that fosters creativity, a crossroads where design, art and experimentation converge to present innovative and surprising results. The laboratory is the distinctive theme of the project: the physical space in which visitors will be welcomed along the path and the conceptual space of a creative exploration that takes shape in the exhibition.
The location, which opens to the public on the occasion of the event, accompanies the visitor with its authenticity and expressive force: four buildings located like a small industrial village, consisting of the pharmaceutical laboratories, the company cral and warehouses, become an exceptional stage backdrop, dialoguing with the projects on display.
