Despite an emergency landing, some passengers on a United flight ended up turning their bogus journey into one excellent adventure thanks to Keanu Reeves.

Every so often, a celebrity will remind us all that they’re just a totally normal, totally cool person, just like the rest of us. This time, it’s Keanu Reeves, star of The Matrix, John Wick, Speed, and Bill & Ted, to name a few.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Reeves’ flight from San Francisco to Burbank had to make an emergency landing at Meadows Field Airport in Bakersfield due to mechanical issues on Saturday. Unfortunately, the airport was closed at the time, making travel arrangements extra difficult for the passengers and crew.

As they waited for new transportation to arrive to take them for the last leg of their journey to Los Angeles, passengers quickly realized their best option was to take a van for a two-hour drive rather than wait for a new flight.

While other A-list celebrities might attempt to hire a private car and get away from their adoring public, Reeves decided he wasn’t going to bolt and leave his fellow passengers behind.

It’s unclear whether Reeves organized a van to take himself and his fellow passengers to L.A., or if transportation was arranged for them by the airline, according to Vulture. However, Reeves was certainly playing the role of the ring leader, explaining options to fellow passengers and encouraging them to “hit the road,” according to Twitter videos captured by passengers.

Cartoonist Brian Rea was also on the flight and captured his experience traveling with Reeves on his Instagram.

In all of the passenger videos and photos, Reeves seems like a down-to-earth guy who just wants to help his fellow humans get to their destination. Once everyone got into the vans, Reeves even helped entertain his companions by reading out some fun facts about Bakersfield as they drove.

Did you know that Bakersfield is the ninth most populous city in California? You do now. Thanks, Keanu.

A spokesperson for SkyWest Airlines, an operator for United, confirmed to Yahoo, “SkyWest Flight 5223, operating as United Express from San Francisco to Burbank on Saturday, March 23, diverted to Bakersfield due to a mechanical indication. The flight landed safely without incident in Bakersfield. Passengers deplaned normally at the gate and were then transported via ground transportation to Burbank.”

Apparently, the spokesperson had no comment on Reeves, according to Entertainment Weekly.
