Imagine: Leaving Mirkwood after arguing with Thranduil, and he finds you years later

Request for: @schmidt2001

"Thranduil, you promised!" I shouted as I trudged after his far ahead figure

"Y/N, how many times must I say it?! I forgot, alright!" Thranduil finally replied, turning to me with outstretched arms

"Do you not care for the well being of your child?" I asked, my voice catching "This is not the first time you have been absent to accompany me in the healer's quarters, Thranduil....it's-it's as if you...you don't care..."

"This is exactly why I forget, Y/N! You nag, and you nag, and you nag me until my sanity is in question!"

"I thought you would like to know about our heir, meleth. I thought you cared about us" I whispered, offended

"I do, Y/N, of course, I do...but you make it so difficult for me to remember all of the little things!"

"Sometimes you make me so angry!" I snapped, having heard enough "At times like these, I just want to be as far as possible from you!"

What he said next slowed my heart

"Then leave!" He shouted, whirling away from me

"W-What?" I whispered, tears stinging my eyes

"Leave, Y/N, I know that you have been aching to since our marriage-"

"That is not true." I sobbed, before running off

"Y/N?" Thranduil called softly from outside the door to your bedroom

He proceeded to knock a few times when a reply from you did not sound.

Sighing, Thranduil slowly turned the knob and began to speak before realizing that the room was vacant

"I am sorry, my lo-"

The freshly picked flowers clutched in the palm of his hand fell to the ground as he saw that you were absent . Whenever Thranduil and you got into a fight, you always retreated back to your bedroom. Your misplacement in this situation was beyond unnatural.

Just before Thranduil took off in search of you, a note lying on your vanity caught his eye. He dove for it and read it quickly, immediately recognizing your handwriting

Thranduil,

I am leaving. You clearly want nothing to do with me or our child. Do not come looking for me, Thranduil. My whereabouts are of least importance to you. I am sorry for nagging you and making you think that I have wanted out of this marriage since its commencement.

Farewell

There were exactly four spots on the piece of parchment where the ink was smudged by some type of liquid-your tears. The quantity of smeared ink nearly doubled as Thranduil read your written message, beginning to weep at what he had done.

He did not hesitate to arm himself, wipe his face of any emotion, and march through the halls, ordering for only his best guards to aid him in retrieving you.

Thranduil did not stop to contemplate where to look for you, he knew exactly where he was going,

Rivendell.

A few weeks later~

Your pov:

Rivendell has been my home for only a short amount of time, as I am preparing to set off. I knew Thranduil was currently on his way.
