ORLANDO, Fla. (WBRC) - Universal Orlando Resort released new details this week about a brand new area coming to Universal Studios Florida this summer.

Named DreamWorks Land, the new themed area takes inspiration from popular films by DreamWorks Animation Studios, including Shrek, Trolls, and Kung-Fu Panda.

The family-friendly area will include a roller coaster, interactive play areas, live entertainment, character meet-and-greets, and more, according to Universal.

Fans of the films will be able to immerse themselves in the worlds of the beloved animated films by visiting Shrek’s 35-foot-tall cottage, Poppy’s Playground nestled underneath a 20-foot mushroom, or practice Kung-Fu at Po’s Training Camp.

Meet-and-greets with characters such as Shrek, Princess Fiona, Donkey, Po, and Gabby from “Gabby’s Dollhouse” will take place throughout the new area.

With the opening of DreamWorks Land comes the newly imagined Trollercoaster, formerly Woody Woodpecker’s Nuthouse Coaster. The redesigned ride for guests of all ages features “Trolls” characters Poppy, Viva, Tiny Diamond, Satin, and Chenille.

While a specific date has not been given, DreamWorks Land is expected to open this summer.
