Remakes of Ys I and Ys II are headed to the DS, according to a recent issue of Famitsu. (By the way, you pronounce the game titles "Ease," not "Wise.") Rather than simply porting the titles, Interchannel-Holon will give them a complete overhaul, adding new animations and features like multiplayer or jukebox mode.

Ys I first arrived on PC in 1987, with Ys II following the next year. Despite the fact that the games have been bundled together in past compilations, the DS remakes will be sold separately, apparently for a rather high $44 each. Both Ys I and Ys II are due out in Japan next Spring.
