Despite a rampant Facebook rumor, former Clemson football standout William "Refrigerator" Perry is not dead, according to Clemson's sports information director.Just before noon, Sports Information Director Tim Bourret retweeted, "Some have reported that William Perry passed away today. This is not correct. He is fine."A short time earlier, Clemson Football had tweeted, "Our William Perry is still alive and well."USA Today Sports reported that the rumor started when Clemson football site Tiger Net posted "an erroneous report and tweet of the Super Bowl XX star’s passing, both of which were later deleted."Perry, who is 50, was recognized as an All-American lineman when he played for Clemson before going pro in the 1980s.  He was a first-round NFL draft choice in 1985, and played for the Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles.In 2011, ESPN reported that Perry, who was living in Aiken, S.C., had suffered some health problems, battled alcohol abuse and at 400 pounds, was nearly an invalid.
